Neusner, Jacob
(b. 1932)
   American scholar. Neusner was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He has taught Jewish Studies at Columbia University, the University of Wisconsin, Dartmouth College, Brown University and the University of Southern Florida. He is the acknowledged world expert in rabbinic literature, has published more than three hundred books and has received numerous awards. In 1968 he was elected President of the American Academy of Religion. Many of his students now hold Jewish Studies positions throughout the United States.
