Netter, Charles
(1826–82)
   French philanthropist. An active worker for Jewish welfare, Netter was a founder (in 1860), and a leading member, of the Alliance Israélite Universelle. In 1870 he established on behalf of the Alliance the first Jewish agricultural school in Palestine, at Mikveh Israel, and was its director for three years.
