Kahn, Otto Hermann
(1867–1943)
   US banker. Born in Germany, Kahn reached the United States at the age of twenty-six, became a partner of Kuhn, Loeb and Company, and a respected and influential banker. He was one of the leading American Jewish philanthropists, and as a patron of the arts subsidized galleries, museums, orchestras and cultural visits from abroad. He was chairman and then president of the Metropolitan Opera Company.
